We’re excited to announce the addition of endoscopy services to better serve your pet’s gastrointestinal health needs. Our veterinary team can now perform endoscopies on-site at our Alhambra facility.
What is an Endoscopy?
An endoscopy is a minimally invasive procedure that allows our veterinarians to visually examine your pet’s upper and lower digestive tract using an endoscope – a flexible tube with a light and camera on the end.
During the procedure, your pet will be under anesthesia as the endoscope is gently guided through the mouth into the esophagus, stomach, and upper intestines. This allows our vets to get a close look at the lining of the GI tract to check for abnormalities, inflammation, foreign objects, tumors, and more. While under anesthesia, our experienced veterinary team monitors to ensure your pet’s maximum comfort and safety. This vital diagnostic tool allows for less invasive evaluation and earlier detection of gastrointestinal issues.
Why We Recommend Endoscopy:
- Early diagnosis of cancers, IBD, foreign bodies, and other conditions
- Minimally invasive procedure compared to exploratory surgery
- Faster recovery time for your pet
- Performing endoscopies in-house allows us to provide timely, affordable care
